Holy Week Schedule 2026
Sunday, March 29th - Sunday, April 5th, 2026

Join us for worship and reflection throughout Holy Week as we move from the triumphal entry into Jerusalem, through his passion and death, and into the joy of Easter. We hope you’ll make plans to be part of this most sacred and meaningful week in the life of the Church.

Palm Sunday – Sunday, March 29 at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Weather permitting, we will all gather outside underneath the “Founders Tree” at the beginning of both the 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. worship services and then process into the Sanctuary together.

Stations of the Cross – Wednesday, April 1 at 6:30 p.m.

This service walks with Jesus from his judgement before Pilate through the agony of the cross and to the silence of his burial.

Maundy Thursday - Thursday, April 2 at 6:30 p.m.

With a Gethsemane Vigil from 8:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m. in the Rev. Dr. Everett Lees Chapel.

Maundy Thursday begins the Triduum (great three days) with the remembrance of Jesus’ final night with his disciples, including his last commandment to love one another as he loved them (John 13:34). During the Maundy Thursday service, nursery care is available for children up to 3 years old. Worship activity packets will be available for children ages 4-10.

Following the Maundy Thursday service, you are invited to take part in The Gethsemane Vigil in the Rev. Dr. Everett Lees Chapel. Beginning at 8:00 p.m. and continuing through 8:00 a.m., parishioners are invited to sign up to pray in one-hour increments, keeping watch through the night in quiet prayer and reflection. To sign up for a one-hour time slot, please email the office. Communion from the reserved sacrament will be offered at 8:00 a.m. on Good Friday.

Good Friday – Friday, April 3 at 6:30 p.m.

This solemn, reflective worship service commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus with the youth of the church offering a version of the Way of the Cross. Veneration of the cross and the Solemn Collects invite us to pray at the foot of the cross. Nursery care provided for children up to 3 years old. Worship activity packets will be available for children ages 4-10.

Holy Saturday – Saturday, April 4 at 10:00 a.m.

A simple and brief liturgy with a few prayers and readings which recall Christ’s descent to the dead and the Harrowing of Hell. This service creates a quiet liminal space between the agony of Good Friday and the joy of Easter Sunday.

The Great Vigil of Easter – Saturday, April 4 at 8:00 p.m.

The service begins in darkness with the kindling of a new fire, and the procession of the Easter Candle into the church symbolizing the passage from the darkness of Christ’s death to the light of His Resurrection. Accounts of God’s salvation history are read through the scriptures, baptisms are held, and the first Eucharist of Easter is celebrated. Nursery care provided for children up to 3 years old. Worship activity packets will be available for children ages 4-10.

Easter Sunday – Sunday, April 5 at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Join us for the Feast of the Resurrection, the most important and holy day of the Church year, with joyful and celebratory music and incense.

At 10:00 a.m., in between the services, children in 5th grade and under are invited to our annual Easter Egg Hunt.

Welcome to Christ Church Episcopal

We are a community rooted in Jesus’ command to love one another. We are deeply sacramental, Holy Communion – the Lord’s Supper – the Mass is our spiritual center.
